Nokia has quietly launched a new budget smartphone in India. The company has expanded its C-series portfolio in India with the launch of the Nokia C12. The C12 is one of the most affordable smartphones from the company in India. The phone has been launched with a single storage option in India. It has a single camera setup on the back. The device also has a polycarbonate build as expected. Nokia C12 comes with support for extended RAM.
The smartphone has been launched as an entry-level option for those who seek to upgrade from a feature phone or get a smartphone experience at an affordable price. The Nokia C12 has been launched in India in a single storage option. The phone has 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage under the hood. It is priced at Rs 5,999. The launch price is introductory and is subject to increase in the coming days. The C12 will go on sale from March 17 in India. It will be available for purchase exclusively via Amazon India.
The C12 arrives in three colour options — Dark Cyan, Charcoal and Light Mint colours.
In terms of hardware, the device has a 6.3-inch LCD panel. The screen has an HD+ resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels and comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio. There is a waterdrop notch at the top centre for the front camera. The chin bezel is also quite thick compared to the rest of the bezels around the display.
Under the hood, there is a Unisoc 9863A1 SoC. The phone, as mentioned above, has 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It comes with support for memory expansion up to 256GB via a microSD card. The device also boots Android 12 (Go Edition) out of the box, which means that users will experience the stock Android experience.
In terms of optics, there is a single 8MP rear camera with an LED flash. The phone also features a 5MP front camera sensor.
The phone has a single speaker. It also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Unfortunately, there is no USB Type-C port and the device instead comes with a micro-USB port. There is support for Bluetooth 5.2 and 802.11 b/g/n.
The device is promised to get two years of quarterly security support. It packs a small 3000mAh battery with 5W charging support. There is an IP52 rating for basic protection against water splashes. The C12 weighs about 177 grams and measures 160.6mm x 74.3mm x 8.75mm.
