HMD Global has launched a new budget smartphone in India. The company has launched the Nokia C12 Pro as its latest offering for under Rs 10,000 in the country. The C12 Pro sits above the vanilla C12, which was launched a few days ago in India. The C12 series is one of the most affordable smartphone series currently in India. HMD Global claims that the C12 Pro brings "elevated performance with an octa-core processor, 2GB Virtual RAM, streamlined OS and enhanced imaging with Night and Portrait modes".

The Nokia C12 Pro is a budget smartphone offering in India. The phone has been launched with two storage options in the country. The base model of the C12 Pro has 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It is priced at Rs 6,999. The device also has a 3GB RAM variant option with 64GB of storage, which is priced at Rs 7,499. Both models of the phone support virtual RAM of up to 2GB via a microSD card slot. The device can be bought in three colour options — Light Mint, Charcoal and Dark Cyan.

The phone features a polycarbonate body and frame. It comes with a curved back and a flat frame design. The phone sports a waterdrop notch at the top for the front camera. The bezels around the display are fairly narrow, except for the thick chin bezel. The textured back of the phone has a single camera setup with an LED flash.

Moving on to the specs, the C12 Pro sports a 6.3-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution, which is a standard among most smartphones at this price point. The screen has a standard 60Hz refresh rate as well. While HMD Global has not mentioned details, the C12 Pro is unlikely to have any additional protective layer for the display.

Under the hood, the phone has an octa-core processor. HMD Global did not reveal the name or any other details about the SoC, including its clock speed or manufacturer. The phone offers up to 3GB of RAM along with 2GB of virtual RAM, which is borrowed from the 64GB of internal storage. There is also a "Performance optimiser" that cleans unnecessary apps running in the background.

The phone has a single camera setup on the back. There is an 8MP rear camera sensor with an LED flash. For selfies, the phone has a 5MP front camera sensor. Both, the front and rear cameras, support night and portrait modes. 

The C12 Pro runs Android 12 (Go Edition) out of the box. It is promised to get two years of regular security patches. In addition to this, the company also announced that the C12 Pro comes with 12 months of replacement guarantee.
