Nokia has launched a new storage variant of the Nokia G42 in India with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The device can potentially have 16GB of RAM, with support for 8GB virtual memory.
The Nokia G42 also supports storage expansion using a microSD card.
The Nokia G42 was launched in India last month with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ chipset. The company also released a pink colour variant of the device last week, to offer more choices to its buyers. The Nokia G42 has now got a new storage configuration of 8GB+256GB, with an additional 8GB of virtual RAM.
The Nokia G42 comes with a triple rear camera setup, along with a 5000mAh battery. The device also offers 5G connectivity. Nokia is also promising 2 years of software updates with the Nokia G42.

Nokia G42 All Variants: Price and Availability
The Nokia G42 is available in two storage variants in India:
6GB+128GB: Rs 11,999
8GB+256GB: Rs 16,999
The Nokia G42 offers three colour options: So Grey, So Purple, and So Pink. The 8GB+256GB variant will be available starting from October 18. The base model of the Nokia G42 is currently available for purchase on Amazon, Nokia’s Online Store, and select partner offline stores.
As of today, October 10, Amazon is offering an instant discount of Rs 1000 on the Nokia G42 using SBI credit and debit cards. This is a limited-time offer under the ongoing Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale.
Nokia G42 Specifications
The Nokia G42 features a 6.56-inch IPS LCD screen with an HD resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels. The refresh rate of the screen is 90Hz with peak brightness levels of 560 nits. The display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for scratch resistance.
The Nokia G42 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ chipset. It is available in two storage configurations, 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. Both variants offer 5GB and 8GB of virtual RAM respectively. The device runs on Android 13 out of the box.
The Nokia G42 comes with a triple rear camera setup. The primary camera is a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The secondary camera is a 2MP macro lens along with an additional 2MP depth sensor. The Nokia G42 is powered by a 5000mAh battery. It supports 20W fast charging through the USB-C port. The device comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, along with an IP52 rating for splash resistance.
