The latest 5G smartphone from HMD Global will be soon available for purchase in the UK.


HMD Global had earlier announced an event on October 6 where they would launch the new Nokia G50. Surprisingly, HMD Global has officially announced the phone today itself. Nokia G50 is the company’s latest 5G smartphone from its G Series. The latest smartphone from Nokia comes loaded with some basic features and specifications. These include an HD+ display, Snapdragon 480 processor, 5,000mAh battery, and more. Let’s take a closer look at the Nokia G50 price, features, specifications, and more details.

Nokia G50 Price

HMD Global may have plans to market the Nokia G50 as an affordable 5G smartphone. The phone carries a price tag of €230 in the UK and Europe for the variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. However, this price translates to roughly Rs 19,900. As of now, there is no word regarding the pricing and availability in India, but the phone is expected to launch soon here as well.

Nokia G50 Specifications & Features

The Nokia G50 sports a 6.8-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720×1640 pixels. It comes with a waterdrop-style or V-notch housing the front-facing camera. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 SoC coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB onboard storage. The storage can be expanded up to 512GB via a microSD card, but there is no dedicated microSD slot. Nokia has opted for a hybrid slot for the G50.

In terms of optics, the phone sports a triple-camera setup on the back. There is a primary 48-megapixel camera accompanied by a 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor along with an LED flash. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with Electronic Image Stabilization.

The phone runs Android 11 out of the box with two years of guaranteed software upgrades and three years of monthly security updates. In terms of connectivity, the phone offers 5G, 4G with VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It packs a  5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. The phone carries the usual Nokia design aesthetics and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It is available in two colour variants- Ocean Blue and Midnight Sun.
