Who would have thought that Nokia would ever partner with an e-commerce giant, that too with an Indian one. As it turns out, nothing is impossible in the world of technology. Nokia has apparently partnered with Flipkart to bring about a new product category – smart TVs.
Nokia and Flipkart are geared up to launch smart televisions – here’s what you need to know
Nokia and Flipkart have joined hands to launch a new smart television lineup in India. The televisions will have the Nokia branding and, as the company claims, the smart TVs will feature superior audio quality powered by JBL’s sound program, an initiative by Harman. This, as a matter of fact, is JBL’s first inclusion in the televisions ecosystem in India.
“We found that poor sound quality and experience is a major pain point for customers purchasing TVs” – says Flipkart.
Flipkart will facilitate domestic manufacturing and end-to-end sales of the Nokia-branded Smart TVs.

As far as Flipkart is concerned, the e-commerce giant is pretty hyped up to partner with Nokia. Adarsh Menon, Senior Vice President and Head – Private Brands, Electronics and Furniture at Flipkart said –

Nokia is a globally popular technology brand and enjoys immense brand recall, so we’re excited to start this journey with them to extend the brand into a fast-growing product segment. The third and the last party involved in this merger, Harman India, is also looking forward to making a name for itself in the country.

As of now, there is not much intel about the upcoming Nokia smart TVs, we don’t know as to how many TVs will make their debut in the first run, what the specifications will be, and what all price brackets would the company want to touch in India, but we are sure to receive further intel on the same in the coming days.
