It looks like things will only get more and more exciting for Nokia fans as time passes. After news of an upcoming penta-lens camera, today we have a new development that points at an all-new Nokia product. Nokia in China has teased a new mobile phone to be launched at its upcoming Nokia event, and this time the handset will feature a dual rear camera, but that is not the exciting part. The interesting bit is that the dual camera is made with Zeiss optics, and that Nokia might just pack in a large low light lens in this one.
New Nokia Phone on October 16 in China
Nokia has posted a teaser poster on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging site (or the Chinese Twitter, we may say) that confirms there is a launch event for Nokia products coming up on October 16 in Beijing. The post said that the countdown has begun for October 16, and the poster shows a dual rear camera with Zeiss optics and a dual tone dual LED flash that is placed intelligently to appear as if it is the moon in the dark sky, with skyscrapers surrounding the image of the mobile camera.
The color palette of the silhouette of the handset is also smartly meshed with the color of the night sky in a bright cityscape, so it looks a shiny dark blue, with a silver-color bezel covering the dual camera. While Nokia kept the name of the new phone secret, it did say that the product is new. “It’s darker and more eye-catching. Nokia mobile phone new product release countdown 7 days October 16, so stay tuned!” Nokia said in the post (roughly translated from Chinese).
Could it be Nokia X7 (7.1 Plus)?
The poster of the new Nokia handset flaunts the upcoming phone’s low-light photography abilities, and the rear dual camera looks like it has a larger second lens, which is typically the case with dual rear cameras made for low light photography, such as the 12MP+20MP rear dual camera of the Mi A2. A recent leak showed that a new Nokia mobile phone is coming with a 12MP+13MP rear dual camera, and the same Nokia account on Weibo had posted images shot from a Nokia X series phone with Zeiss optics, as the Weibo post showed.
That is the case as well with today’s post from Nokia’s official account on Weibo, as it says posted from Nokia X series Zeiss mobile phone, and there is no existing X series phone by Nokia that has a Zeiss camera. Speculation is that this upcoming handset will be called the Nokia X7 in the Chinese market and subsequently Nokia 7.1 Plus for the global market, adding to the growing and popular line-up of mid-range X series phones by Nokia.
Stay tuned with us as we shall keep you updated with the latest of developments about the upcoming Nokia launch event.
