Nokia is all geared up to enter the televisions ecosystem in India. A little while ago, we got to know that the Finnish giant has collaborated with the Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart to launch a new series of smart televisions in the country and now, the company has finally announced that the first smart LED TV from Nokia will be launched in India on December 5. Though the landing page for the Nokia Smart LED TV on Flipkart has still not revealed the launch date as we can still see the “coming soon” tag written there, the company has already sent out media invites to the members of the press which has confirmed the same.
Nokia Smart LED TV launching on December 5: specifications and features known so far
The Nokia Smart LED TV will have the Nokia branding, but that’s pretty much about it. The televisions will be made in India and everything (manufacturing, distribution, etc) will be handled by Flipkart only.
As far as the features of the smart TV are concerned, it will have the speakers from JBL. This, as a matter of fact, will be the first time that the JBL’s audio technology will be used on a TV. Coming to the screen size, at least a 55-inch model is confirmed, but it is not sure as to whether or not the 55-inch variant only will launch on the said date. It is being expected that the Nokia Smart LED TV will come with a 4K UHD panel.
Furthermore, we will get to see intelligent dimming technology. As far as the OS is concerned, the Nokia Smart TV is rumored to run on Android TV 9.0 out of the box which would give the users access to the Google Play Store.
Nevertheless, if the promotional poster for the TV is to be believed, we can expect thin bezels surrounding its display.
Moving on to the price, the Nokia Smart TV is expected to be priced aggressively, but nothing concrete is known as of now. That said, if the company keeps the price of the TV aggressively, it could give a good competition to the upcoming Xiaomi Mi TV 4X (55) 2020 edition which is launching on November 2.
As of now, this is all we know about the Nokia Smart LED TV, but we are sure to receive further intel on the same in the coming days.
