Nokia has finally unveiled its new handset called the Nokia X7 in China and Nokia 7.1 Plus for the global market. New Nokia 7.1 Plus Specifications and Key Features

The Nokia 7.1 Plus sports a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with a notch and a narrow chin that flaunt the Nokia badge. The screen-to-body ratio is 86.5 percent, and the aspect ratio is 18.7:9. The Nokia ‘PureDisplay’ boasts of up to 500 nits of brightness, and is HDR10 compliant. It has DCI-P3 color gamut support as well as 96 percent coverage of NTSC color space.

Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset with built-in AI, the best mid-range processor on offer by Qualcomm as of yet. Nokia is going to offer Android 8.1 oreo on this phone out-of-the-box. In China, this will come with a skin on top, while the phone in other markets should still be part of the Android One program. The update to Android 9 Pie has been promised to ship out by the end of this year.

The Nokia 7.1 Plus follows the glass back design like the Nokia 6.1 Plus, and packs a 2.5D curved glass on the front and back both. It has a metal frame with rounded edges and a chrome-like strip running around the sides, bottom and top of the phone. The camera setup includes a 12MP+13MP rear dual camera with Zeiss optics, aided by optical image stabilization. The selfie shooter is 20MP, a first for any mid-range Nokia phone.

Among several AI features for the front and rear cameras are AI scene recognition, AR Stickers, portrait lighting effects, and beautification. Both the front and rear cameras employ large pixels, and there are a lot of manual setting options too.

For music buffs, the Nokia 7.1 Plus retains the 3.5mm audio jack, and gets several audio enhancement technologies such as APTX HD. The phone also offers a single bottom-firing loudspeaker. It gets a decent 3500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. Charging is achieved over a USB Type-C port.

Nokia 7.1 Plus Price in India

The new Nokia 7.1 Plus has been priced quite aggressively. The handset will come in four colors: White, Black, Purple, and Blue. There are three memory configurations: 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage, 6GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage, and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage. The standard 4GB variant is priced CNY 1,699 (INR 18,000), the 6GB+64GB model comes in at CNY 1,999 (INR 21,000), and the 128GB storage variant at CNY 2,499 (INR 27,000).
