Nokia X7 aka Nokia 8.1 Android Pie Beta Testing Begins in China, Stable Update Expected to Roll Out Soon

Nokia smartphones are usually the quickest to get the Android updates. Since HMD Global has close tie-ups to the Android One Program, a significant number of Nokia devices have received the Android Pie update ahead of several popular smartphones. The latest comes from the Nokia X7 (8.1 Plus), that is all set for beta testing in China. The smartphone was released in the country last month and has been receiving timely OS updates. To recall, Nokia 6.1, 6.1 Plus, and the Nokia 7 Plus have already got the stable Android Pie update. And, we are expecting a stable release for the Nokia X7 (8.1 Plus) soon. The company has begun the process and is now accepting the user registrations for  Android Pie Beta Testing Program on Baidu’s nokibar forums. Users can visit this link and comment on the post in order to get registered for the same. Those owning a Nokia X7 can reply to the post with their network operator and model. It is important to note that the users will also have to mention their previous Beta Testing experiences in order to become an early adopter.

The past experience in Beta Testing is mandatory as the company expects the user to catch and report bugs, which could go unseen by a regular smartphone user. The entire enrollment process in China varies significantly as compared to Beta Testing Programs in other smartphone markets. Furthermore, the early adopters will also require to sign an agreement of confidentiality.

With the Android 9 Pie update, the smartphone gets features like Adaptive Brightness, Slices, and, a new system navigation. In terms of dimensions, the device measures 154.8 x 75.8 x 8 mm and weighs in at 178 grams.
