A few days ago, Nokia had sent event invites to the media for the China launch of the Nokia X71 smartphone. And it was expected that the X71 would launch as Nokia 6.2 (or Nokia 6 2019) globally. There had also been a leak recently showing that the Nokia X71 and the Nokia 6.2 have the same codename, and therefore, confirming that they could both be the same smartphones.
However, today, Nokibar has tweeted saying that the Nokia X71 and the Nokia 6.2 (or Nokia 6 2019) are two different devices. The tweet is accompanied by an image, which has a rough sketch of the Nokia X71. And the device in the sketch looks different from the renders of the Nokia 6.2 that were leaked earlier by OnLeaks. We can’t say for sure if the Nokia X71 is different from Nokia 6.2 based on a single sketch, but it could be possible. Well, we don’t have to wait much longer to find out, as the Nokia X71 is set to launch tomorrow.

The sketch of the X71 that Nokibar has shared includes a few key specifications of the device. According to the sketch, the Nokia X71 will feature a 6.4-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution. It will come with Snapdragon 660 processor mated to 6GB of RAM. The device will have a 48MP + 8MP + 5MP triple-camera setup. The smartphone will run on Android 9 Pie OS, and it will feature a 3500mAh battery. The sketch also reveals that the Nokia X71 will have a punch-hole display. Looking at the specifications, Nokia X71 could be placed between Nokia 7.1 and the Nokia 8.1.
The image from Nokibar also has Nokia N71 in it. We can’t say for sure what this means. Maybe Nokibar is indicating that Nokia is naming their smartphones in an old Nokia way. Or maybe Nokibar is showing how far Nokia has come. Well, we will find out tomorrow.
Will Nokia X71 Launch in India?
Usually, Nokia launches global variants of its smartphones in India, and not the Chinese variants. Considering that the Nokia X71 is a device for China, I don’t think Nokia will bring it to India. That being said, the brand could instead launch the much-rumored Nokia 6.2 (or Nokia 6 2019) in the country.
