Nokia is rumoured to be working on a new XR-series smartphone. The company’s XR lineup offers smartphones with a rugged build. There is the XR20, which was launched in India last year for Rs 46,999. The company seems to be working on the successor of the smartphone, which might be called the Nokia XR21. A recent leak revealed the design of the smartphone and called it XR30. However, the latest development suggests that the XR20 successor will be called the Nokia XR21.
A new WinFuture report has now revealed the key specifications of the upcoming Nokia smartphone. Let’s take a look at the Nokia XR21 specifications, features and other details known so far.
Nokia XR21 Full Specifications and Renders Leaked Online
The Nokia XR21 will be a new premium smartphone from Nokia which will offer a rugged design. It is expected to launch soon. Ahead of the launch, a new report by WinFuture has revealed that the phone will feature a 6.49-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. There will be support for up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will also come with a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus on the display for added protection against accidental drops and scratches.
The phone has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera. According to the report, there will be a 16MP front camera sensor. The rear panel will have a rectangular camera module. It is likely to feature a 64MP OmniVision sensor with an f/1.79 aperture. The device will also come with an 8MP telephoto camera with up to 8x digital zoom support. The XR21 is said to be capable of shooting up to only 1080p videos.
The device will have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. It is also said to pack a 4800mAh battery under the hood with support for 33W fast charging via a USB Type-C 2.0 port. The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC.
The XR21 is said to boot Android 12 out of the box, which, if true, will be disappointing as we have had Android 13 for nearly a year now. It will get OS updates till May 2026 and security patch support till May 2027.
The device is also said to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC under the hood, which is one of the most popular mid-range chipsets used in 5G smartphones under Rs 20,000 in India. However, in the case of the XR21, it is expected to be priced at around $499 (roughly Rs 40,800).
The device is likely to offer only 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Lastly, the phone will weigh about 235 grams.
