Nothing’s Carl Pei Responds to Memes Around Phone 2 Design, Says “Just Wait and See”

Nothing is all set to launch the Nothing Phone (2) on July 11. The device will be unveiled in India on the same date. As confirmed by Nothing, the handset will be available in India via Flipkart. Ahead of the official launch, the company has been confirming key specifications of the device. The brand recently confirmed the processor details as well as battery capacity information. Additionally, we even saw the renders of the device a couple of days back. Soon after the renders were leaked on the web, Nothing CEO Carl Pei took to Twitter and tweeted it as “fake”, indicating one way that leaked renders are inaccurate.

Nothing Phone (2) is Likely to Sport a Different Design Than Phone (1)

Additionally, some memes have been floating on Twitter recently, which implies that the Nothing Phone (2) will look similar to that of the Nothing Phone (1). By seeing these memes, Nothing CEO Carl Pei has tweeted, “To everyone sending me this: just you wait and see”. This tweet by CEO again hints that the leaked renders are incorrect and the Nothing Phone (2) will have significant changes compared to Phone (1). The brand revealed a small teaser while revealing the Phone (2) launch date. The teaser shown by the company showcased to us that the Phone (2) will have a slight alteration in the alignment of the glyph interface, which the previously leaked renders also disclosed.

However, now that the CEO has debunked the renders and given hints on Twitter to wait and see, we might get to see some new design changes until the Phone (2) goes official. Speaking about the specifications, the Nothing Phone (2) is confirmed to feature a 6.7-inch display. The phone might adopt an AMOLED panel that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC which will be paired with Adreno 740 GPU.

Nothing Phone (2): Specifications (rumoured)

The smartphone might pack up to 12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. We can expect the handset to boot Android 13 out of the box with Nothing OS 2.0 on top. A 4700mAh battery will likely be equipped with the smartphone to support fast charging. As far as the rest of the key features go, the smartphone might boast an in-display fingerprint sensor and dual speakers.

In related news, the Nothing Phone (2) was spotted on BIS certification. The device was spotted on the certification website with model number AIN065. Apart from BIS certification, the smartphone also has received the UAE’s TDRA certification. The TDRA certification disclosed the marketing name of the device as Nothing Phone (2) and the model number as A065.
