Nothing is gearing up for the launch of its first smartphone, the Phone (1). The company has started unveiling the key design features and other specifications of the Phone (1) ahead of its official launch. Nothing has confirmed that the device will launch in India and will be available for purchase via Flipkart. The device will be available for purchase initially via an invite-only system.

Interestingly, a new report claims that the Nothing smartphone could be available for purchase in India via offline stores. 91Mobiles claims that Nothing is in talks with Reliance Digital for the Nothing Phone (1) offline sales.

It is unknown when the phone will be available for purchase via offline markets considering Nothing wants to have better control over its inventory. Opting for offline sales would make making a bulk load of units available and wait for the stock to clear, which is contrary to Nothing’s strategy for the initial sales. The company has confirmed that the device will be available for purchase via an invite-only system so that community members can get the phone first. The invite-only system will further help the company analyse the demand and manufacture units accordingly.

The device will be made in India and sold online via Flipkart, according to the official press release. We will have to wait for a few days to know if the leaked offline store availability details are true.
