The Phone (2) launch date is expected to be announced soon. Nothing, at the time of confirming the launch recently, revealed that the Phone (2) will launch in summer of 2023. The company is likely to launch the device between June and August. So far, the company has only confirmed that the phone will feature a Snapdragon 8 series processor. Nothing did not reveal any further details about the SoC.

However, thanks to a Geekbench listing, we now know the performance unit details of the Phone (2). Let’s take a look at the Nothing Phone (2) specifications, features and other details known so far.

Nothing Phone (2) Specifications Revealed Via Geekbench

The Nothing Phone (2) will launch as a new premium smartphone later this year. The phone has visited the Geekbench website ahead of its launch. The listing on Geekbench confirms some key specs of the device. The Phone (2) has the model number A065.

According to the listing on Geekbench, the device draws power from a Snapdragon processor codenamed taro. This essentially is the codename for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, which has a peak clock speed of 3.0GHz. The SoC has three performance cores clocked at 2.5GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz.

This is contrary to the accidental leak by Qualcomm’s SVP and GM of Mobile, Compute and XR business unit, Alex Katouzian, who had posted that the Nothing Phone (2) will feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. It could be possible that Nothing uses an under-clocked version of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC for its upcoming flagship, which could have the clock speeds, more or less, similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC while offering better power efficiency. We should have more clarity about the same in the coming weeks as we approach the launch.

Moving on, the Nothing smartphone’s variant listed on Geekbench has 12GB of RAM. We can expect the phone to launch the device with 8GB of RAM as well. It is likely to launch with 128GB and 256GB of storage in various markets.

The Phone (2) scored 1253 and 3833 in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests. It was also spotted running Android 13 on Geekbench. The device is likely to feature Nothing OS 1.5 on top of Android.

The listing does not reveal any other specs of the device. We previously reported that the Phone (2) is likely to pack a 5000mAh battery. It is also likely to sport an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The device has cleared the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) certification website, which hints at an imminent launch. It is also confirmed to be available for purchase via Flipkart soon after it has been launched in India. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Nothing smartphone? Let us know in the comments below.
