Nothing made its debut in the smartphone segment with the Nothing Phone (1) in July 2021. While people were expecting Nothing to deliver a flagship smartphone, the company decided to go with a mid-range device as its first smartphone. To those unaware, the Nothing Phone (1) is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor. Several people criticised the company for not using the Snapdragon 8 series processor on the Phone (1).
Nothing recently announced that it is working on the Phone (2) which will be launched in the late 2023. At the ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Nothing has confirmed that its upcoming Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series processor.

Nothing didn’t specify the exact processor details and it is not clear if the company will use the latest gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series processor for the Phone (2). However, Qualcomm has confirmed that Nothing’s upcoming smartphone will feature satellite connectivity. There are rumours that Nothing might go in favour of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 to keep the pricing low. However, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 features X65 modem which doesn’t feature satellite connectivity.
Nothing CEO Carl Pei has already announced that the Nothing Phone (2) will be a more premium offering compared to its predecessor. However, as of now, nothing much is known about the Nothing Phone (2). In the meanwhile, let us take a quick recap of Nothing Phone (1) specifications and features.

The Nothing Phone (1) flaunts a 120Hz AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, 1200nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It measures 6.55-inches diagonally and makes room for selfie shooter inside a corner punch hole notch.
The Nothing Phone (1) is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor that comes paired with an integrated Adreno 642L GPU. It packs up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage and up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The smartphone was launched with Nothing OS 1.0, based on Android 12. THe company also promised three Android version upgrades for the device.

The Nothing Phone (1) sports a dual a dual-rear camera setup that consists of a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS support. It gets accompanied by a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor that functions as an ultra-wide-angle lens. The Phone (1) comes equipped with a 4,500mAh capacity battery. It supports 33W fast charging support over a Type-C charging port. The mid-range device also features support for 15W Qi wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging.
