Flipkart has created a special webpage for the Nubia Red Magic 3 smartphone, and the e-commerce platform has revealed through the webpage that the Nubia Red Magic 3 will launch in India on June 17. Flipkart, however, hasn’t yet revealed the configurations of the smartphone that will launch in India, and its pricing details. Those two will be revealed on the launch day, most probably.
To recall, the Nubia Red Magic 3 made its debut in China on April 29. And at the China launch event, Nubia revealed that it will launch the Red Magic 3 in the Indian market soon. Not too long after the launch event, the brand sent out a press release announcing that the Red Magic 3 will land in India in mid-June. Well, the exact launch date is finally here – June 17.
The Nubia Red Magic 3 is a gaming-oriented smartphone, and it packs a few industry-first features. Let us quickly have a look those features, specifications of the device, and also the expected price of Nubia Red Magic 3 in India.
Nubia Red Magic 3 Expected Price in India
In China, the Nubia Red Magic 3 costs CNY 2,899 (approximately INR 29,000) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, CNY 3,199 (approximately INR 32,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, CNY 3,499 (approximately INR 35,000) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, and CNY 4,299 (approximately INR 43,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.
However, in India, the brand might not launch all four variants. The device, in my opinion, could launch in India in three variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. And these variants might cost the same in India as they do in China. If not, they could carry an INR 3,000 premium over what they cost in China. So, at most, the 6GB + 128GB variant could be priced at INR 31,999, the 8GB + 128GB variant could be priced at INR 37,999, and the 12GB + 256GB variant could be priced at INR 45,999 in India.
Nubia Red Magic 3 Specifications
The most interesting part about the Nubia Red Magic 3 is that the smartphone has an internal fan to cool-down the SoC. In theory, the fan-equipped Nubia Red Magic 3 should have significantly better SoC heat dissipation than the smartphones without a fan. And as a result, the SoC can sustain maximum clock speed for a longer period of time, which will help the device to offer higher frame rates in games, leading to a smoother gaming experience. The SoC itself is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, which is the flagship smartphone chipset from Qualcomm at the moment. And as I mentioned earlier, the Nubia Red Magic 3 comes in four variants (in China) – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage.
On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie OS with a near-stock UI. That being said, Nubia has customized the software to add a few gaming-oriented features such a Gaming Hub from which you can organize games, fine-tune performance settings, monitor stats in real time, block notifications for uninterrupted gaming, record gameplay and more.
Another standout feature of the Red Magic 3 is its massive, 5000mAh battery. There are very Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 powered smartphones in the market that have a battery capacity as such. The large battery pack will offer gamers a longer playback time on battery power. Along with the large battery pack, the device has 18W Quick Charge 4+ fast charging. The smartphone also features an RGB strip at the back for a gamer-like feel. Speaking of gamers, the Nubia Red Magic 3 comes with stereo speakers for a more immersive gaming experience.
What about the display? Does it have any special features for gaming? Yes, of course, it does. The 6.65-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display of the Red Magic 3 has 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch refresh rate for a smoother gaming experience. Moreover, the display features HDR for a better dynamic range and improved colors. And lastly, the display is free of any notch — so, no blocked view there.
Although the Nubia Red Magic 3 is a gaming smartphone, it doesn’t skimp on imaging. The smartphone comes with a 48-megapixel rear camera. And like with the rest of the aspects of the device, the Red Magic 3 has a trick up its sleeve in the camera department too. And what’s that? Well, it is the first smartphone in the world to feature 8K video recording. Yes, the rear camera can record 8K videos at 30 frames per second. There is also 4K video recording at 60 frames per second, and a 1920 frames per second slow-motion video recording option as well. The front-facing camera of the smartphone s a 16MP unit.
On the connectivity side of things, the Red Magic 3 has dual-SIM, dual-VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v5.0, a 3,5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port.
