Nubia has sent out a press release to the media revealing that the brand will launch its Red Magic 3 smartphone in India in mid-June. Unfortunately, Nubia hasn’t announced the exact launch date.
The Nubia Red Magic 3 is a gaming-oriented smartphone. The device made its debut in China on 29th April. Shortly after the launch in China, the brand had confirmed that they’d launch the device in India. And now finally, we have the official time frame for its India launch.
Once launched in India, the Nubia Red Magic 3 will compete directly with the likes of Xiaomi Black Shark 2 that launched today, and three upcoming smartphones — Asus Zenfone 6, Redmi K20 and the Realme flagship smartphone.
Nubia Red Magic 3 Variants, Expected Price in India
In China, the Nubia Red Magic 3 comes in a total of four variants. The base variant has 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and it costs CNY 2,899 (approximately INR 29,000). The second variant has 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and it costs CNY 3,199 (approximately INR 32,000). The third variant has 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and it costs CNY 3,499 (approximately INR 35,000). The top of the line variant has 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, and it costs CNY 4,299 (approximately INR 43,000). You can expect the Red Magic 3 to cost the same in India as it does in China, if not, each variant could be priced approximately INR 3,000 higher in India, than it does in China.
Nubia Red Magic 3 Specifications
The Nubia Red Magic 3 features a 6.65-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. Fortunately, there is no notch whatsoever. Being a gaming smartphone, the display has a 90Hz refresh rate, which should offer a smoother gaming experience.
The Nubia Red Magic 3, as you might expect, features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. It has four eight CPU cores and Adreno 640 GPU. The manufacturer has also put in a beefy copper plate for better heat dissipation. So, expect the device to sustain higher clock speeds for a longer period, and therefore offer higher sustained frame rate in games. There is also a special gaming mode that offers gaming-oriented features. As I mentioned earlier, the device comes in four variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. The Nubia Red Magic 3 runs on Android 9 Pie OS.
The device isn’t so great when it comes to imaging. While most other flagship and high-end smartphones nowadays come with a dual-camera or triple-camera setup at the back, the Nubia Red Magic 3 has a single camera – a 48MP unit with a conventional field of view. That being said, the rear camera has few tricks up its sleeve. For one, the device can record 8K videos, and there is also a 1,920 frames per second slow-motion video recording option. Up front, there is a 16MP camera sensor.
Another exciting feature of the Red Magic 3 is its massive, 5000mAh battery. I can’t recall any high-end smartphone, apart from Zenfone 6, to pack such a large battery pack. What’s even better is that the battery supports 27W fast charging. Both of these features will benefit gamers. Speaking of gamers, the device also has a 3.5mm audio jack for hassle-free audio. If all of that isn’t enough for you, the Nubia Red Magic also has an RGB light on its back panel for a more gamer-like feel.
