Chinese smartphone brand Nubia is a well-known player in its home country, where the company has been busy launching several new smartphone models. While Nubia did have a limited presence in India and has been around in this country for quite some time now, it is yet to make its mark as a well-known brand. This is in contrast to other Chinese brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, and Realme, all of whom are now quite popular. Anyway, news is that Nubia reportedly plans to bring its Red Magic 3s gaming smartphone to India soon. The company has issued press invites for a press event on October 16, where the Red Magic 3s will be announced for the Indian market. The Red Magic 3s succeeds the Red Magic 3 that was announced back in May this year. Let us now take a quick look at the Red Magic 3s and its key specifications.
Nubia Red Magic 3s Specifications
The Red Magic 3s – being a gaming-oriented smartphone – finds itself powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC. The device features up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. India is likely to get lower RAM and storage versions, especially given that both the BlackShark 2 and the ASUS ROG Phone 2 are already sold in India at relatively affordable prices. The display on the Nubia Red Magic 3s is a large 6.65-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and support for 90 Hz refresh rate. The camera setup is on par with what the competition has on offer thanks to a 48MP primary camera that also supports 4K video recording at 60fps. At the front, the handset gets a single 16-megapixel selfie camera. Being a large phone, it also packs in a 5,000mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging using the supplied charger. The phone runs Nubia’s custom UI called Red Magic OS 2.1 atop an Android 9 Pie core. The handset gets a USB Type-C port and a 35mm jack for audio connectivity. Internationally, the Red Magic 3s is sold in two versions – one with an internal fan and another that only gets liquid cooling. We are unsure which of these versions would make it India.
Nubia Red Magic 3s Expected Price in India
While the final price of the Red Magic 3s is yet to be formally announced, we know that in China, the base version of the phone with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at around INR 34,000. The pricier versions of the phone with 12G RAM and 256GB of storage sells for around INR 43,000 internationally. It remains to be seen if the Indian version of the phone is priced below these international prices. The phone will be available in two color options; Eclipse Black and Mecha Silver.
