Nubia Technology, a spin-off of Chinese telecom giant ZTE’s mobile division, is known for its interesting handsets. After making a lot of headlines followed by a limited release of its Nubia X dual-screen smartphone, the company has turned its focus on mobile games. Its latest handset Red Magic 3S has been officially announced for India. Introduced in China last month, the Nubia Red Magic 3S comes with top-of-the-line hardware to please the impatient gamers. For starters, it has LED lights that are a must for any gaming hardware. It is basically a digital version of Aposematism from the animal kingdom. Nubia Red Magic 3S Specifications
The Nubia Red Magic 3S is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus chip from Qualcomm. This 7 nm SoC (System on Chip) comes with the Adreno 640 GPU to handle games. For sustained gaming performance, Nubia has embedded a ‘turbofan’ along with a vapor cooling pipe and air vents. In India, the handset will be available in 8 GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variants.
The phone features a 6.6-inch Full HD AMOLED display. It has a wide-screen aspect ratio of 19.5:9. To get rid of the screen-tearing and undesired motion blur effect for good, Nubia has oped for a screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate. You get a touch response rate of 240 Hz to keep the input lag at the bay. Since it is an AMOLED screen, you get vibrant colors and inky blacks. To enhance the contrast further, the panel also comes with HD support.
Moving onto the camera, the Nubia Red Magic 3S sports a no-frills 48 MP single camera at the back. The company is using Sony’s IMX586 sensor with F/1.79 aperture
. It claims that the phone can capture 8k quality videos. For selfies, you get a 16 MP front-facing shooter.
The Red Magic 3S covers all the essential connectivity features such as 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and A-GPS (network-assisted GPS). The phone has a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. For secure login, the Red Magic 3S offers a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Moreover, there’s gaming-specific hardware such as capacitive shoulder buttons, directional haptic feedback, and dual speakers.
The handset houses a 5,000 mAh battery with 18 W quick charging support. Coming to the subject of software, the Nubia Magic 3S runs almost stock version of Android. It does, however, feature Game Space 2.1 to manage all your games and phone’s performance. From here, you can also customize RGB lights, block notifications during the gaming sessions, and record gameplay clips.
The Nubia Red Magic 3S Price and Availability
The Red Magic 3S has already been listed on Flipkart as “coming soon” As per the company, the device will start shipping starting from October 21 during the Diwali sale. The base variant of the red Magic 3S with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage is priced at Rs 35,999. For 12 GB RAM and 256 G internal storage, you will have to shell out Rs 47,999. It is going to face some serious competition from Asus’ ROG 2 phone with price starting at Rs 37,999.
