Nubia has finally launched its latest gaming-series smartphone in China. The Nubia Red Magic 5G comes with a bunch of impressive specifications and features, making it one of the most noteworthy smartphones that have launched lately. The device comes with features like a 144Hz refresh rate panel, the latest Snapdragon 856 platform, up to 16GB of RAM, and a 64MP primary camera. Well, let’s not waste more time and have a look at the price, specifications, and features of the newly launched Nubia Red Magic 5G smartphone.

Nubia Red Magic 5G: Price

The Nubia Red Magic 5G comes in four memory variants. The base variant features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and is priced at CNY 3,799 (roughly $570). Then, there’s the 12GB RAM and 128GB variant, which is priced at CNY 4,099 (roughly $585). The third variant also comes with 12GB of RAM, but with double the internal storage. The 12GB/256GB model of the Nubia Red Magic 5G sells for CNY 4,399 (roughly $635). Lastly, the Chinese brand has introduced a top-of-the-line variant of the Nubia Red Magic 5G with a whopping 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. If you want to get your hands on this one, you would have to shed off CNY 4,999 (roughly $712) from your pocket.

On top of the ‘standard’ variants, the Nubia Red Magic 5G is introduced in a special transparent edition, which comes in two variants – one with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which sells for CNY 4,599 ($655) and one with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which sells for CNY 5,199 (around $740).

Pre-orders for the device have already started and the first sales will commence on March 19, 2020. The device is also said to go global in April.

Nubia Red Magic 5G: Specifications and Features

Starting off with the display of the device, the Nubia Red Magic 5G flaunts a 6.65-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 2,340 x 1,080 pixel resolution. The display of the device bears a 144Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The rear of the device is made of aluminium and it packs in an RGB light panel. Adding to the gaming touch, the Nubia Red Magic 5G features touch-sensitive capacitive shoulder triggers for gaming, which come with a 300Hz sampling rate. The device comes in a total of four color variants – Mars Red, Cyber Neon, Black, and the limited transparent edition.

Under the hood, the Nubia Red Magic 5G is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G platform alongside the X55 modem. As mentioned earlier, the Nubia Red Magic 5G comes in 8GB/12GB/16GB RAM variants and 128GB/256GB internal storage variants (UFS 3.0).

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nubia Red Magic 5G sports a triple rear camera setup, which consists of a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, an 8MP ultra wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. At the front, the Nubia Red Magic 5G possesses an 8MP selfie snapper. On the software side of things, the Nubia Red Magic 5G ships the latest Android 10 OS out of the box with the company’s own Red Magic OS baked on top.

A 4,500mAh battery keeps the lights of the Nubia Red Magic 5G on. The device supports fast charging and can be charged over a USB Type-C charging port.
