The foldable smartphone market is getting bigger and bigger in terms of product launches. For the past few years, Samsung has dominated the foldable smartphone market with its Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series. The likes of Motorola, Huawei, OPPO, Tecno and Vivo followed with their version of foldable phones. Google, too, recently launched its first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold. It looks like another major player is working on the launch of its own foldable phone. Nubia is reportedly working on the launch of the Z60 Fold.
The company has not confirmed any details about the same. However, a new report claims that the Nubia Z60 Fold is in the works. The PriceBaba report, citing tipster Paras Guglani, has revealed some key details about the upcoming Nubia foldable phone. Let’s take a look at the Nubia Z60 Fold specifications, launch details, features and other details.
Nubia Z60 Fold Launch Timeline and Specifications
The Nubia Z60 Fold is said to launch later this year in various markets. A new report has revealed the launch timeline and key specs of the foldable phone. According to the PriceBaba report, the Z60 Fold will launch in the fourth quarter of 2023. The foldable phone will launch in three colour variants, according to the report. Unfortunately, there are no details about the exact shades of the device. The device reportedly has the model number NX801J.
Guglani further revealed that the phone will sport a 7.3-inch foldable AMOLED display. It is slightly smaller than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Pixel Fold’s foldable display. There is no word on the outer display specs of the Z60 Fold.
Nubia is said to feature an unannounced Snapdragon 8 series chipset in the Z60 Fold. Based on the details on the web, there is no Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 SoC in sight. Instead, there have been rumours of Qualcomm launching the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC later this year. It could be possible that the Z60 Fold gets a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. However, the report did not confirm the processor details. Guglani added that the Z60 Fold will feature 12GB of RAM. The foldable phone will arrive in two storage options. Its base model will feature 256GB of storage, whereas the higher storage option will pack 512GB of storage.
The Z60 Fold will pack a 5000mAh battery, according to the leaker. If true, it would be the biggest battery in any foldable phone launched in the commercial market. The Pixel Fold currently has the lead with a 4821mAh battery. The Z60 Fold is likely to offer 100W fast charging support, which again would be the fastest on any foldable phone to date.
There is no official word from the company regarding the launch. And it is expected to be like that if the rumoured Q4 launch timeline is indeed true. Regardless, the Z60 Fold is unlikely to launch in India as Nubia does not launch its phones in the world’s second-largest smartphone market.
