Ola has expanded its electric scooter lineup in India with the launch of the Ola S1. The new electric scooter marks its official launch in India on the day of India’s 75th Independence Day, where the nation is celebrating “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.” The new Ola S1 scooter sits below the Pro model, which was launched last year in India.
As expected from an entry-level offering, the S1 has a shorter range on a single charge, a smaller battery and is slower than the Pro model. Ola has launched the S1 at an introductory price in India. Let’s take a look at the Ola S1 India price, colour options, features and other details.
Ola S1 Price in India
Ola has launched the S1 in India at an introductory price of Rs 99,999. The company has launched its new electric scooter in India in multiple colour options, such as Porcelain White, Neo Mint, Coral Glam, Jet Black and Liquid Silver.
Ola S1 Reservations
Ola has kicked off the pre-reservations of the S1 in India. Customers who wish to book the S1 can do so by paying Rs 499 on the Ola Electric website or the Ola app. The reservation window is open till August 31. Ola will start delivering its new electric scooter in India starting September 7.
Ola S1 Features
The S1 looks fairly identical to its Pro sibling, minus some features. The S1 packs a smaller 3kWh battery, which is claimed to offer a real-world range of 128 km in Eco mode. The S1 misses out on the Hyper Mode feature but gets Normal and Sports mode. These two offer a range up to 101km and 90km, respectively. Ola has also kept the Cruise Control exclusive to the Pro model. The standard variant gets other features, such as navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and music.
The S1’s electric motor has a 5.5kW rated power and a peak motor power of 8.5kW. it has a top speed of 95 km/ hour, which is slower than the Pro model’s 116 km/ hour top speed.
Ola has also announced its new MoveOS 3, which provides many features. The new software update will roll out during Diwali. In addition to the S1, the company has also refreshed the Pro model with two new colour options – Khakhi Green and Freedom Edition.
