Brings 10 new watch faces from the Galaxy Watch4 as well.

Samsung is now rolling out a new software update to older Galaxy smartwatches which brings several new features and a range of new watch faces as a part of personalization features. The update is now rolling out to Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch3 smartwatches. Let’s take a look at all the new features that the new update brings.

Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch3 New Features

The first feature that has been added is fall detection which identifies hard fall for the wearable. On Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch3, the new update allows users to set to higher sensitivity for fall detection. Once the watch detects falls, it will send an SOS notification to pre-selected contacts, helping ensure that the user can receive the assistance they need as soon as possible. This feature is not available for Galaxy Watch and Watch Active users.

Next, the wearables are getting a group challenge feature that allows you to work out with friends regardless of the distance. You can add friends or family members to a challenge. The feature allows you to work as a team or compete against each other.

The smartwatches are also getting some advanced health features in addition to the existing heart rate, blood oxygen tracking, sleep and stress monitoring. Select market users are also getting Blood Pressure (BP) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring. This is applicable for Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch3 only as Samsung had rolled out this feature to the Galaxy Watch4 in four new markets – Australia, Azerbaijan, Paraguay and Georgia. Currently, the feature is available in a total of 42 markets within the Samsung Health Monitor app.

Lastly, Samsung is adding 10 additional watch faces from the Galaxy Watch4. You can also customize some of these watch faces to get more personalization options.
