With One UI 5.0, users can experience some design improvements, including a redesigned notification centre, which is now slightly more opaque. The update also includes new app icons and improved animations and transition effects, which are aimed to offer a smoother user experience.
In addition to this, Samsung has also added a feature called Stacked Widgets. The feature, inspired by iOS 15, allows users to add multiple widgets within a larger widget. These widgets automatically keep switching on the home screen to show the updated information. The update also includes a feature called Optical Character Recognition, aka OCR, in the Gallery app. It recognises text in images, which allows users to copy and paste it into other apps.
The update also introduces new gestures for enabling split-screen while updating features for Bixby Routines and Samsung DeX. There are also a few new emojis and AR stickers. Samsung is also making some changes to its native apps such as Samsung Internet, Health, Pay, Members, the Galaxy Store, SmartThings, etc. to offer new features.
