OnePlus 10 series Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 confirmed

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the company’s upcoming devices will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC under the hood. The CEO did not explicitly mention the OnePlus 10 series in his Weibo post but it was what the company is expected to call the next flagship. Both devices, the OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro are expected to launch with the new Qualcomm flagship chipset.

Details of the Pro model have leaked in the past. The leaked design renders suggest that OnePlus will change the device’s rear panel design significantly. It will sport a square-shaped camera module, which will house a triple-camera setup on the back. The camera module curves along the side frame to offer a seamless blend. Details about the camera sensors remain unknown. We can expect OnePlus to offer a 50MP primary or an ultrawide camera sensor. A piece of leaked information by tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the Pro model will support 3.3x optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom.

At the front, the phone will sport a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with a hole-punch cutout for the front camera. The cutout is expected to be on the top left corner of the display. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack but the device has the power button and the alert slider on the right edge, whereas the volume keys are located on the left edge. The phone is also rumoured to feature 125W fast charging for the 5000 mAh battery.
