OnePlus 11R Confirmed to Come With Sony’s IMX890 Sensor From OnePlus 11

OnePlus 11R launch event will be hosted on February 7 in India. The upcoming premium smartphone from OnePlus will debut as a successor to the 10R 5G, which was launched last year in India. The 11R 5G will also be available in China in the form of the OnePlus Ace 2. Ahead of the official launch, OnePlus has been teasing the specifications and features of the Ace 2 on its official Weibo account. The latest teaser confirms the camera specifications of the device.

The OnePlus Ace 2, aka the 11R 5G, will launch with a Sony IMX890 50MP camera sensor. In case you are not aware, the same sensor is found in the OnePlus 11 5G, which is the company’s flagship smartphone for 2023. The OnePlus 11R 5G will also be able to offer RAW photo shooting modes to ensure that the sensor can retain maximum details, which can later be processed by the user.

OnePlus also revealed the front design of the upcoming R-series smartphone. The device will feature a curved display with a hole-punch cutout. The cutout is located at the top centre, unlike the 11 5G, which has the hole-punch cutout at the top left corner. The bezels around the display are very thin too.

In addition to this, the company confirmed that the phone will launch with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. There will be support for up to 8GB of virtual RAM. There will also be a SuperVOOC S chip, which improves the battery discharge efficiency while ensuring the 100W SuperVOOC charging experience is safer. The Ace 2 will also come with Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC support out of the box.

OnePlus 11R 5G Specifications 

The OnePlus 11R 5G is confirmed to sport a 6.74-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen will switch between 40Hz, 45Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz, depending on the usage. It will also have a 1.5K resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels. The screen will offer 1450 nits of peak brightness. There is also an in-display fingerprint scanner.

There will be an alert slider on the right edge of the phone, below which is the power button. The device will feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which sits below the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC in Qualcomm’s flagship mobile SoC lineup.

The 11R 5G will also feature a 5000mAh battery under the hood. There will be support for 100W fast charging as well. The device’s rear camera module will look similar to the OnePlus 11 5G. However, the camera sensors are different and the rear camera setup is also not tuned by Hasselblad. There will be a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera as confirmed above. The phone will also get an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. The 11R 5G is also confirmed to feature a 3D cooling system.

The phone is likely to run Android 13-based OxygenOS 13 in India. It is tipped to have a starting price ranging between Rs 35,000 and Rs 40,000 for the base model with 8GB of RAM in India. The 16GB RAM variant is likely to be priced under Rs 45,000 in India.
