OnePlus recently rolled out OxygenOS 11 update, based on Android 11, for OnePlus 7, and OnePlus 7T series devices. OnePlus 6, and OnePlus 6T are the only eligible OnePlus devices left to receive the OxygenOS 11 update. It looks like the users of these smartphones will have to wait for a few more months to experience Android 11 based OxygenOS 11 update on their devices. OnePlus, in a monthly QnA on OnePlus Community, revealed the exact timeline for OxygenOS 11 rollout for the OnePlus 6, and OnePlus 6T smartphones. Similar to other devices, OnePlus will roll out an Open Beta update at first, followed by a Stable roll-out. Let us take a look at the update timeline,
OnePlus 6, and OnePlus 6T OxygenOS 11 Update will arrive in August!
In the community post, the company shared that it plans to roll out OxygenOS 11 Beta update for these smartphones at the end of August. That means users will have to wait for 4 more months to use Android 11 on their smartphones.

OnePlus didn’t announce the timeline for OxygenOS 11 Stable update for these devices. We can safely assume that stable ROM users will have to wait for another month to receive Android 11. Also, by that time, Google might start rolling out Android 12 Stable update for Pixel devices.
OnePlus didn’t reveal any reasons as to why there is such a long delay in updates for these devices. The OxygenOS 11 updates for OnePlus 7, and OnePlus 7T series devices were also delayed. The company had cited an encryption-related issue behind the delay, which the company was able to resolve with the help of Qualcomm.
To recall, OnePlus 6, and OnePlus 6T smartphones were launched back in 2018. Andorid 11 update will be the last Android version upgrade for both these devices.
