OnePlus 6 Android 9 Pie Based Hydrogen OS 9.0 Stable Update Rolling Out in China
After rolling out the OxygenOS 9.0 update for the global variant, OnePlus is rolling out the stable Android 9.0 Pie-based HydrogenOS 9.0 update for the OnePlus 6 in China.
Last month, OnePlus began rolling out the stable Android 9.0 Pie-based OxygenOS 9.0 update for the OnePlus 6 in select regions. The manufacturer has now started pushing the Android 9.0-based HydrogenOS 9.0 stable update for the OnePlus 6 users in China. As with any major update rollout, it will take a few days for the update to become available for all users. The update includes pretty much all the key features that Android Pie brings to the table, along with the September Android security patch.

OnePlus 6 Android 9 Pie Update Rolling Out
The Android Pie stable update for the OnePlus 6 (Review) is arriving as HydrogenOS 9.0 and weighs in at 1.97GB in terms of size. As mentioned above, the update will be rolled out in phases, with the initial rollout limited to a relatively small user base. In the next few days, we expect the HydrogenOS 9.0 update for the OnePlus 6 to become available for most units in China.

OnePlus 6 Android 9 Pie Update New Features
The HydrogenOS 9.0 update for the OnePlus 6 comes with several new features. Some of these include a brand-new UI, new adaptive battery feature for enhanced stamina, gesture navigation, and the September Android security patch. The adaptive battery feature is claimed to help improve battery life by optimizing memory management. It can figure out which apps are most frequently used by the user and keeps only those apps in memory. Apart from these features, the update adds the new Gaming mode 3.0 with a text notification mode and notification for third-party calls. The New Do Not Disturb (DND) mode comes with adjustable settings. Another interesting feature is support for accent color customization. In addition to these, the HydrogenOS 9.0 update comes some other new features and system improvements, just like any other major software update. After you install the HydrogenOS 9.0 update on your OnePlus 6, do make sure you update all third-party apps that you have installed on your device. Some third-party apps may have compatibility issues with Android 9.0 Pie.
OnePlus 6 Android 9 Pie Update Global Roll Out
OnePlus began pushing the Android 9.0 Pie-based stable OxygenOS 9.0 update for the OnePlus 6 late last month. Similar to the HydrogenOS 9.0 update rolling out in China, the OxygenOS 9.0 update arrived with the September Android security update as well as the other key features such as Adaptive Battery, new Do Not Disturb Mode (DND), and the Gaming mode 3.0. Aside from HMD Global, OnePlus is the only Android OEM to have rolled out the stable Android 9.0 Pie update for its flagship smartphone. Most other Android OEMs are yet to even share their plans with regards to the Android Pie rollout.
