Recently OnePlus allowed eager buyers to purchase tickets that offered priority access to the launch of the OnePlus 6T. As expected, the tickets sold out in mere seconds. Earlier this month, OnePlus had confirmed that it will be unveiling its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 6T, at an event in New York City on October 30. However, Apple Inc. scheduled at event on the same date. Hence, OnePlus brought the date of the event forward to October 29. Apple had sent out invites to a ‘special event’ on October 30. We expect Apple could announce new iPads and Macs.
The OnePlus 6T is a flagship Android smartphone that is still shrouded in a thin veil of mystery. However, several important aspects of the latest OnePlus smartphone have surfaced online. The in-display fingerprint scanner, which the company is calling ‘Screen Unlock’, a dedicated ‘Night Mode’ that dynamically alters the display parameters, including the blue color emission, the processor, etc. are known. OnePlus 6T will have a teardrop notch at the top. The smartphone could feature a 6.4-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone has Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. It could launch in two memory configurations: 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage.
A 3,700mAh battery that supports Dash Charging technology, powers the smartphone. The exact specifications of the camera setup on the OnePlus 6T remains unclear. But the device could easily have flagship-class imaging hardware supported by AI-powered features. The device should have all the relevant connectivity options, including USB Type-C reversible connector. However, OnePlus has dropped the 3.5mm headphone jack starting with the OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus recently confirmed the latest Android flagship smartphone will have improved gesture-based navigation, which will help users switch between two recently used apps quickly.
