Although, the recently released OnePlus 6T already comes with a plastic screen protector, the company is now selling the OnePlus 6T 3D Tempered Glass Screen Protector. This will make the smartphone even more secure and insulate it from damages in case of accidental drops. The new glass protector, which has exclusively been made for the new phone, is now available on the company’s official website.

Improved Protection Without Compromising The Fingerprint Reader

Although, the bezel-less and ultra-slim design makes smartphones look beautiful, it comes with a cost: the trimmed bezels make handsets more vulnerable to damage. Moreover, the smartphone with In-display fingerprint sensors, like the OnePlus 6T, need an extra layer of protection to prevent dust from interfering with the workings of the sensor. Nevertheless, the OnePlus 6T ships with a plastic screen protector; the tempered glass screen protectors provide better cover. And since the new phone comes with specific instructions to not use a third-party screen protector, the users had no option but to wait for OnePlus to come with a better alternative of its own. Thankfully, the OEM didn’t take too long to do that.

The OnePlus 6T 3D Tempered Glass Screen Protector is now retailing for INR 990. It provides edge-to-edge protection and features an anti-scratch surface and 9H hardness, which means it is capable of safeguarding your device against scratches and drops. Thanks to its oleophobic coating, the protector will also keep your phone smudge-free.

To be on the safe side, the company recommends that you enter your fingerprints again after changing the screen protector. Otherwise, the fingerprint sensor might not respond as accurately as it should. Needless to say, the glass protector itself will not affect the workings of the fingerprint module.

The tempered glass screen protector also features a notch at the top, so that it doesn’t obliterate the phone’s camera. It is only available in black color, which wouldn’t affect the aesthetics of the phone as all the variants have black bezels regardless, of the color of their cases. The case only weighs a paltry 11g.

The OnePlus 6T Can Give Other Manufacturers A Run For Their Money

The recently released OnePlus 6T is already being compared to one of the best smartphones in the market which carry a much heavier price tag. In addition to having high-end specifications, the phone also boasts of a modern design, owing to its waterdrop shaped notch and an In-display fingerprint scanner that the company calls Screen Unlock. Luckily for users, the biometric module is not attached to the screen itself, so in case the phone’s screen is smashed; they would only have to get the display panel repaired. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6, which provides two times the protection offered by the Gorilla Glass 5.

The price of the OnePlus 6T starts at INR 37,999 in India for the base variant of 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal memory. The higher-specced variant has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, and apparently, the company will be introducing a McLaren Edition of the phone too, which will come with 10GB of RAM.

Here is the OnePlus 6T in all its glory.
