OnePlus is sending out the latest incremental update of OxygenOS that’s based on Android 9 Pie for OnePlus 6T. The OxygenOS 9.0.7 for the OnePlus 6T brings with it several improvements in the imaging, audio, wireless connectivity as well as battery endurance department.
OnePlus has been steadily improving its OxygenOS. The versatile custom skin over base Android Mobile Operating System works on OnePlus smartphones. The Chinese smartphone company, which is famous for making ‘Flagship Killer’ smartphones, recently launched its latest flagship Android smartphone, the OnePlus 6T. The smartphone brings with it many powerful features. Although, the OxygenOS custom skin is working great, OnePlus has been sending several small incremental updates.
Previously, these updates improved the performance of the In-display fingerprint scanner. The subsequent 9.0.6 OTA Update further optimized screen-unlock performance, and added several important bug-fixes like the Google Play Store not showing any notifications. The latest update too, brings with it quite a few feature improvements as well as bug-fixes.
OnePlus OxygenOS 9.0.7 OTA Update For OnePlus 6T Features, Bug-Fixes
The latest update for the OnePlus 6T upgrades the OxygenOS to version 9.0.7. The update attempts to address several areas. OnePlus has offered a changelog for the OxygenOS 9.0.7 OTA Update for the OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus has focused on improving the camera performance, particularly in the high FPS slow-motion videos. Interestingly, the company also added an ‘Audio Tuner’ for Bluetooth wireless headphones. The tuner should allow listeners to fine-tune several aspects of wireless audio.
Apart from audio and video, the OxygenOS 9.0.7 Update brings several improvements in the ‘System’ as well. In addition to the Audio Tuner, OnePlus claims it has improved the stability of a Bluetooth connection to boost stability. Similarly, even Wi-Fi connections should now be more stable.
The 3700mAh battery in the OnePlus 6T is able to offer a respectable run time. However, OnePlus was obviously concerned about improving the standby time the battery offered. Apparently, a few tweaks implemented, should now offer improved standby power consumption, presumably by optimizing the background power consumption by apps and sensors.
In the previous update, OnePlus attempted to improve the unlock performance. The OnePlus 6T boasts of an In-display fingerprint scanner that is increasingly becoming the industry standard for mid-range and premium smartphones. In this update, OnePlus has reportedly fixed display issues for lock screen wallpaper.
Apart from these improvements, the new update also fixes some issues that were present in the previous version. Incidentally, this update is for the global variant of the OnePlus 6T, not the T-Mobile model. The first update the T-Mobile OnePlus 6T variant received, reportedly improved Night Scape mode and fingerprint sensor performance.
OnePlus has categorically mentioned the update roll-out is gradual. In other words, The OTA will reach a small percentage of users immediately, but a larger roll-out will happen eventually.
OnePlus Software Updates For OnePlus Devices
OnePlus has been offering software updates with remarkable commitment to several of its devices. Several older OnePlus smartphones are still receiving regular updates that add quite a few features to the latest OnePlus smartphones have. The updates also include bug-fixes and system improvement features that work on the relevance of the OnePlus Android smartphones in this competitive segment.
The OnePlus 6T came with Android 9.0 Pie on board, but it has already received four software updates. Interestingly, the OnePlus 6 is already on the latest Android version. Moreover, the company has promised to release the update for the older OnePlus 5/5T, and OnePlus 3/3T as well.
