All We Know About the OnePlus 6T So Far
Thanks to a host of leaks and some official teasers, we know quite well what the OnePlus 6T will be offering. There was speculation about a triple rear camera but the rumors were later laid to rest. The handset will bring in a new optical in-display fingerprint sensor to a OnePlus phone for the first time, as also a waterdrop notch. Since different brands are calling the same tiny notch different names, it will be interesting to see if OnePlus also comes up with another name of its own for the same thing.
The OnePlus 6T is largely based on the OPPO R17 Pro but it will be powered by the same 2.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 flagship chipset we saw on the OnePlus 6. The OnePlus 6 has received an upgrade to Android 9 Pie, and the new device will booth the Pie OS right out of the box. The device will have a 3700mAh battery, larger than the one on OnePlus 6, but at the cost of the 3.5mm audio jack. Also, while the rear dual-camera is expected to be the same 16MP+20MP affair, there will be software updates that improve the image quality. OnePlus CEO recently shared a low-light image shot by the dual rear camera of the OnePlus 6T, and it shows excellent detail and very little noise.
The display of the handset is touted to be a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED unit protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6, achieving an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, and offering better screen space as compared to the predecessor. A recent rumor has also pointed towards a microSD card slot in the OnePlus 6T. We have seen rumors about wireless fast charging for the phone, but it may not be true since cost is a major factor for OnePlus ‘flagship killer’ handsets.
