OnePlus 6T Visits TENAA Ahead of the Launch on October 29th

The official OnePlus 6T accessories price list confirms that the phone will lack a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack. The company's USB Type-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter will cost €8.95, making it one of the cheapest first-party headphone adapters in the market.

The eagerly awaited OnePlus 6T flagship smartphone is all set to be unveiled at an event in New York City on October 29. Roughly a week before the global launch event, the OnePlus 6T has been certified by Chinese telecommunications regulatory authority TENAA. For now, however, the TENAA listing does not include any images or specifications of the smartphone.

The only information revealed by the TENAA listing currently is that the next OnePlus flagship will bear the model number A6010. However, we do expect the OnePlus 6T TENAA listing to be populated with images and detailed specifications of the smartphone soon. Once that happens, we will be updating this space with the images as well as the key specifications. While the majority of the smartphone’s specifications have been confirmed already, the TENAA listing is expected to shed more light on its camera hardware. Rumors have so far suggested the smartphone will retain the 16MP + 20MP setup seen on the OnePlus 6, but with some software tweaks to boost imaging performance.

OnePlus 6T Low-Light Camera Sample Teased By Company CEO

The OnePlus 6T launch is just a few days far and the company has rescheduled the event to October 29. A great deal about the handset has leaked already to the point that OnePlus might not have anything left to surprise fans on day zero. We exclusively reported the expected Indian pricing of the handset which is thought to begin at Rs 37,999 making the OnePlus 6T the most expensive device in the brand’s history. Now, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has shared the first camera sample captured by the OnePlus 6T on Weibo.

A report in mid-week revealed that the OnePlus 6T will boast of a dedicated low-light camera mode that would improve photo quality in night scenarios. Well, an image shared by the OnePlus CEO of a night scene gives us a glimpse at what’s coming. As you can see in the image above, the image captured at night with the dual rear camera turns up really nice and has very little noise and distortion. Also, zooming in on parts of the image reveals a good amount of details have been preserved with the capture. Now, we’re not expecting any hardware level changes for the optics, but apparently, OnePlus must have made some algorithmic changes to improve the overall quality of the image.

As far as the other details go, OnePlus also had revealed a teaser regarding the in-display fingerprint on the OnePlus 6T. Going by that particular image, we can expect the device to have built-in payment support. The icons that are displayed are probably to portray the kind of good/services users will be able to purchase with the touch of the sensor. Since the images don’t come from a third party but an official source, we can very well expect these to be on the handset at launch. However, the payment feature might be relegated to certain regions such as China where citizens are much more frequent at electronic payments than India.

Besides that, the OnePlus 6T will also boast of Android Pie out-of-the-box and ardent users of the headphone jack will be very disappointed as OnePlus has sacrificed it for a bigger 3700mAh battery. Rumour is that a special Ultimate Limited Edition will also be announced  that will probably have either have a different physical look and/or more storage.

October 18, 2018 – OnePlus 6T Receives MIIT Certification Ahead of the Launch on October 30

Yesterday we brought you an exclusive tip of the pricing of the various OnePlus 6T variants. Today, we’ve just witnessed the handset get the green lights from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The model number you will see on the certificate below is OnePlus A6010. This is in sequence with the model number of last year’s OnePlus 5T that was A5010. Hence our assumption. Also, if you were wondering, Shenzen Wanpras Technology manufactures the OnePlus 6T for OnePlus. That’s the reason why OnePlus is not mentioned as the manufacturer.

As usual, the MIIT certificate doesn’t bring to light anything extra from what we already know about the upcoming handset. The handset is yet to appear on TENAA and once that happens, the cat will be out of the bag. For now, we would have to make do with Geekbench data that suggests the OnePlus 6T will come with Android Pie out of the box. OnePlus also confirmed that Oxygen OS will get a radical revamp with a new gesture navigation system beginning with the OnePlus 6T and that is something to be excited about. Of course, the handset will also get the Snapdragon 845 SoC. The launch date for the device is October 30th. We expect the starting price to be Rs 37,999.

September 30, 2018 – [EXCLUSIVE] OnePlus 6T Official Accessories Price List for European Market Leaks

The OnePlus 6T is all set to be unveiled on October 17, which is just a few weeks away. Even though OnePlus has just started teasing its upcoming smartphone officially, we brought you the exclusive renders of the OnePlus 6T and a 360-degree render video a few days ago that confirmed all the key design features of the smartphone. Now, we’re also bringing you the price list of all the OnePlus 6T official accessories for the European market.

The company has pretty much confirmed that its upcoming smartphone will lack a 3.5mm headphone jack, so it is releasing two new USB Type-C audio accessories: USB-C Bullets Earphones and USB-C to 3.5mm Jack Adapter Cable. The pricing of USB-C Bullets Earphones will remain similar to that of OnePlus Bullets (V2), at €19.95. The USB-C to 3.5mm adapter cable will be priced at €8.95, making them one of the cheapest headphone jack adapters in the market.

OnePlus will also release three bumper cases (Nylon, Ebony Wood, Karbon) and two protective cases (Sandstone and Karbon) for its upcoming smartphone. You can see European pricing for all official OnePlus 6T accessories in the image below.

OnePlus 6T: Leaked Renders In 5K

The render images and the 360-degree render video come from trusted source @OnLeaks, who has a fantastic track record when it comes to leaking designs of unreleased devices. The OnePlus 6T renders confirm the presence of a waterdrop notch at the top of the display, similar to the OPPO R17 and F9 series smartphones. Thanks to the waterdrop notch design, we expect the OnePlus 6T to have a slightly higher screen-to-body ratio than the OnePlus 6 (Review). On the back of the handset, we see a vertically-stacked dual-camera setup with a dual-LED flash module placed right below it.

As confirmed by a recent CNET report, the OnePlus 6T does not feature a fingerprint sensor at the rear. Instead, the upcoming flagship will feature an in-display fingerprint reader. Unfortunately, however, the OnePlus 6T will not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. The 3.5mm headphone jack was recently voted by OnePlus 6 fans as their favourite feature of the smartphone, so this will certainly disappoint a large number of OnePlus fans. The positioning of the power, alert slider, and volume keys are largely unchanged compared to the OnePlus 6.

In terms of physical size, the OnePlus 6T measures 157.5×75.7×8.2mm. At its thickest point, i.e. the camera bump, the smartphone will be 8.6mm thick. These dimensions are roughly similar to those of the OPPO R17 Pro, confirming that the upcoming smartphone will have a display measuring around 6.4-inches diagonally. For reference, the OnePlus 6 measures 155.7×75.4×7.8mm. The thicker profile of the handset also hints at a slightly higher capacity battery under the hood (rumoured to be 3700mAh).

OnePlus 6T: 360-Degree Video

To get an even better look at the upcoming OnePlus 6T’s design, watch the 360-degree video below.

OnePlus 6T: Specifications, Features

Going by previous leaks, the upcoming OnePlus smartphone will be equipped with a 6.4-inch Optic AMOLED display featuring Full HD+ resolution (1080×2340 pixels) and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Thanks to the waterdrop notch at the top, OnePlus 6T is expected to boast a higher screen-to-body ratio when compared to the OnePlus 6. Protecting the display will be a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

In terms of performance, the OnePlus 6T will be more or less identical to the OnePlus 6. It will be powered by a 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor clocked at 2.8 GHz and featuring the powerful Adreno 630 GPU. In terms of memory, we expect OnePlus to offer the 6T in three variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. In terms of software, the OnePlus 6T is likely to ship with Android 9.0 Pie-based OxygenOS out of the box.

The smartphone is expected to feature a 16MP + 20MP dual-camera setup at the rear, similar to that of the OnePlus 6. At the front, there is expected to be an improved selfie camera. Connectivity features will include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ ac, Bluetooth 5.0 + Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, NFC, Dual 4G VoLTE, and a USB Type-C port. The phone could also feature a proper IP rating as well as wireless charging, but don’t hold your breath for these features.
