OnePlus 8 Lite

OnePlus has been in the news of late thanks to a new phone called the OnePlus 8 Lite. With the standard OnePlus models climbing up the price range with each passing generation, the OnePlus 8 Lite, prima facie seems to be the company’s attempt at having a product that folks can still refer to as an affordable flagship. As far as we now know, the OnePlus 8 Lite will be made official in the next few days — way before the company’s 2020 lineup of OnePlus 8 series devices (OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro) are launched by mid-2020. In fact, we had posted the first-ever CAD renders of the device in one of our previous posts. Today, the same device has made an appearance in a video that was leaked on Chinese social media platforms. The screengrab from the video was posted on popular leaks platform Slashleaks.

OnePlus 8 Lite Live Images Leak

As outlined earlier, the latest images of the Oneplus 8 Lite come courtesy of a video that was leaked across several Chinese social media sites. At one point in the video, the new OnePlus 8 Lite is seen making an appearance. From the video, it becomes evident that the handset features a triple camera setup at the rear instead of a dual-camera setup that was rumored earlier. The phone appears to feature a 6.4-inch panel which will most certainly be of the AMOLED type and will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. There is also talk of the phone featuring a 90Hz refresh rate for the display.

OnePlus 8 Lite expected specifications

The OnePlus 8 Lite is rumored to come powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000 SoC. This is MediaTek’s competitor to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset and should come with at least 8GB of RAM and in 128GB and 256GB variants. The phone is also expected to pack in a 4,000mAh battery. As for the camera setup, the primary camera on the OnePlus 8 Lite is likely to use a 48MP sensor while the secondary camera will feature a 20MP sensor mated to an ultrawide angle lens. The third sensor is likely to be a 12MP telephoto camera. There is also a good chance that the OnePlus 8 Lite will feature IP53 rating for water and dust resistance.
