OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro Stable Update with Android 12 (OxygenOS 12) Rolling Out in India

The Android 12 stable update is being rolled out for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro in India.


OnePlus released the first Android 12-based OxygenOS beta update for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro in October. The company in November released the second public beta update for these devices. A few days back OnePlus also rolled out the third beta update for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker has officially started rolling out a stable Android 12 beta update for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro users in India. The Android 12 update should be available for the European and Global OnePlus 9 series in the upcoming few days. Let us check ahead as to what new the software update brings in for these phones.

Android 12 Stable Update Is Available for OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro

As per the details available, the OnePlus 9 users in India are receiving the Android 12 update (OxygenOS 12) with a firmware version as OxygenOS, while the OnePlus 9 Pro users are getting Android 12 based OxygenOS update. The changelog of the new stable Android 12 software update is similar to that of the OxygenOS beta 1 that was rolled out in October. The new software update brings in the Android 12 version, new options style for cards in the shelf, optimized software algorithm and improved face recognition, new diverse styles of lines and colors for Canvas AOD, and much more.     • Work-Life Balance feature is now available to all users, allowing you to effortlessly switch between Work and Life mode via quick settings
    • WLB 2.0 now supports automatic Work/Life mode switching, based on specific locations, Wi-Fi network, and time, also bringing customized App notification profiles according to the personalization
  • Gallery
    • Gallery now allows you to switch between different layouts with a two-finger pinch gesture, intelligently recognizing the best-quality pictures, and cropping the thumbnail based on the content, making the gallery layout more pleasing
  • Canvas AOD
    • Canvas AOD brings you new diverse styles of lines and colors, for a more personalized lock screen experience with inspiring visuals
    • Newly added multiple brushes and strokes and support for color adjustment
    • Optimized software algorithm and improved face recognition to better identify the features and skin color of different figures
