OnePlus rolled out OxygenOS 126.96.36.199 OTA update for the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro a few days ago. This new update brought in multiple camera improvements to these handsets. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker is rolling out a new software update to its cheapest device in this lineup – the OnePlus 9R. The OnePlus 9R has started receiving OxygenOS 188.8.131.52 OTA update recently. The last update (v184.108.40.206) for the OnePlus 9R arrived in May, which brought in latest May 2021 security patch and a couple of new fixes. The newly rolling out OxygenOS 220.127.116.11 OTA fixes the battery drain issue which was caused by previous release. Let’s check more details about this newly rolling out software update ahead:
OnePlus 9R OxygenOS 18.104.22.168 OTA Update Rolling Out
As per the changelog mentioned on the OnePlus forum, the incremental rollout of the OxygenOS 22.214.171.124 hotfix build replaces the previous OnePlus 9R update. The newly rolling out OxygenOS 126.96.36.199. OTA update for the OnePlus 9R is of 106MB in size. This new software update fixes the battery drain issue, which was caused by the earlier (v188.8.131.52) software update. As per the changelog, the device will now have reduced power consumption in specific scenarios. OnePlus also has fixed some known issues for a better experience with this new software update, as per changelog details.
You can head over to Settings >> System >> System Updates >> to check if you have received this new software update. As usual, this new OTA update is rolling out in a staged manner, meaning that it will be available to limited users initially.
