OnePlus 9R OxygenOS 13 Open Beta Program is Now Rolling Out: All You Need to Know

OnePlus has completed OxygenOS 13 Open Beta roll out for the OnePlus 9 series.


OnePlus, a couple of days ago, announced the OxygenOS 13 Open Beta program for the OnePlus 9RT. Now, the brand has announced the OnePlus 9R OxygenOS 13 Open Beta program. This is the last OnePlus 9 series smartphone to get the Android 13 Open Beta version. To those unaware, the company has also rolled out OxygenOS 13 Open Beta update for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. OnePlus took it to the OnePlus Community forum to make a formal announcement for the same.

To recall, the OnePlus 9R was announced alongside the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro last year and received the Android 12 based OxygenOS 12 update earlier this year. Let us take a closer look at the OnePlus 9R OxygenOS 13 Open Beta features and installation process.

OnePlus 9R OxygenOS 13 Open Beta: Installation Procedure

OnePlus 9R users running firmware version C.35 can manually install the OxygenOS 13 Open Beta on their devices. OnePlus has also advised users to ensure at least 5.5GBs of free storage and at least 30% battery on their devices before starting with the installation process.

In order to install the OnePlus 9R OxygenOS 13 Open Beta version, users need to download the firmware manually on their devices by clicking here. The downloaded file needs to be copied to the phone’s internal storage. Since the installation requires manual flashing, users also need to enable developer mode which can be done by heading over to Settings -> About device -> Version -> Click Build number 7 times.

As the final step, users need to head over to Settings -> About device -> Up to date -> Click the top right button -> Local install -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> Extract -> Upgrade to update their OnePlus 9R to Android 13.

OnePlus 9R OxygenOS 13 Open Beta: Known Bugs and Issues

Readers must note that beta builds aren’t as stable as regular builds and might contain bugs that affect the system stability and battery life. OnePlus has informed that OnePlus 9R users will encounter an abnormal display of charging prompt under the lock screen after upgrading to OxygenOS 13 Open Beta. Apart from it, the icon editing interface of the control center is also displayed incorrectly in the current Open Beta version.
