OnePlus 9RT Now Receiving OxygenOS 12 Based on Android 12 Update in India: Here’s Full Changelog

OxygenOS 12 also brings an updated July Android security patch to the OnePlus 9RT.


OnePlus, back in January, launched the OnePlus 9RT smartphone in the Indian market. Despite launching it in January, OnePlus shipped the device with OxygenOS 11, based on Android 11. The company planned to release Android 12 update for the OnePlus 9RT in March/April. However, that didn’t happen. In a new development, OnePlus has finally started rolling out the OnePlus 9RT Android 12 stable update in India.

The Android 12 update for the OnePlus 9RT comes with firmware version MT2111_11_C.04 and weighs about 5GB in size. Alongside, the update also brings an updated July 2022 Android security patch the OnePlus 9RT. Let us take a closer look at what the new update has in the store for OnePlus 9RT users.

OxygenOS 12 update for the OnePlus 9RT brings with it a new quick launch that detects frequently used apps and pre-loads them so that users can access them quickly. The update also brings a new dark mode which now allows users to customize the contrast level as per their preference. Apart from it, the update brings several changes to the Shelf, Work-Life Balance, Gallery, and Canvas AOD.

    • Optimized desktop icons with improved textures, by using a design inspired by brand-new materials and uniting lights and layers
  • Performance
    • Newly added Quick launch, a feature that detects the apps you use frequently and pre-loads them so you can open them quickly
    • Newly added a chart to display your battery usage
    • Optimized the auto brightness algorithm to adapt screen brightness to more scenes for a comfortable screen reading experience
  • Dark mode
    • Newly supported three adjustable levels, bringing a more personalized and comfortable user experience
  • Shelf
    • Newly added style options for Cards, making data contents more visual and easier to read
    • Newly added Earphone Control Card with Bluetooth earphone one-click adjustment
    • Newly added access to OnePlus Scout in Shelf, allowing you to search multiple contents on your phone, including Apps, Settings, Media Data, etc
    • Newly added OnePlus Watch Card in Shelf, to easily glance at your health status
  • Work Life Balance
    • Newly added Work Life Balance feature, allowing you to effortlessly switch between Work and Life mode via quick settings
    • Supported automatic Work/Life mode switching, based on specific locations, Wi-Fi network, and time, also bringing customized App notification profiles according to the personalization

    • Newly supported switching between different layouts with a two-finger pinch gesture, intelligently recognizing the best-quality pictures, and cropping the thumbnail based on the content, making the gallery layout more pleasing

    • Newly added diverse styles of lines and colors, for a more personalized lock screen experience with inspiring visuals
    • Newly added multiple brushes and strokes and support for color adjustment

    • Newly added the HyperBoost end-to-end frame rate stabilizer

OnePlus 9RT OxygenOS 12 stable update might be rolling out in phases, so some users might not have received the update on their device yet. We can expect the company to finish the roll out in next couple of weeks.
