OnePlus recently launched its OnePlus 11 series smartphones globally. The series includes OnePlus 11R 5G, a rebranded OnePlus Ace 2 smartphone launched in China. There have been many rumours that the brand is gearing up to launch the OnePlus Ace 2 Dimensity Edition in China. Ahead of the launch, popular Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station revealed (via) a poster on the Chinese micro-blogging platform Weibo.
The poster reveals the front design of the upcoming OnePlus smartphone. Rumours around the device indicate that OnePlus may launch the smartphone in March 2023 in China. The smartphone will also be launched globally but not under OnePlus 11 series branding. The brand has already confirmed that it will not launch smartphones under the OnePlus 11 series.
OnePlus Ace 2 Dimensity Edition Design Leaked
OnePlus will likely downgrade specifications like the primary camera and fast charging to make it different from the Snapdragon Edition. The image reveals that the upcoming Ace 2 Dimensity Edition will feature a flat screen with a punch hole in the centre. OnePlus has managed to keep the bezels of the device narrow, resulting in an increased screen-to-body ratio. It doesn’t reveal the rear or side designs besides the front design. Earlier, the tipster had revealed that the smartphone would sport a 6.74-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The display will also house the optical in-display fingerprint scanner. OnePlus will likely equip the smartphone with the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. The chipset will pair up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will run on Color OS 13 on top of Android 13 out of the box in China. Recently, the smartphone was listed in China’s 3C, indicating the launch is nearing. The 3C listing reveals that the smartphone will bear the model number PHP110 and will come with an 80W charger in the box.
Earlier, it was tipped to feature a large 5000 mAh battery that supports 80W charging. In terms of optics, the smartphone will sport a triple-rear camera setup. The setup will comprise a 64MP OmniVision OV64M primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture and OIS. An 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M macro sensor will accompany the primary sensor. The punch-hole in the display will house the 16MP front camera.
OnePlus will launch the smartphone with a different name, like OnePlus Ace 2 Racing Edition. Currently, we are calling the smartphone as OnePlus Ace 2 Dimensity Edition. The official name can be known only after OnePlus officially teases the smartphone. There are reports that OnePlus will likely rebrand the smartphone as OnePlus Nord 3 globally. Yesterday, we had exclusively revealed the specifications of the upcoming OnePlus Nord 3, similar to the OnePlus Ace 2 Dimensity Edition.
