OnePlus was recently in the news for offering its 30W wireless charger for free to users. The OnePlus 30W Wireless Charger, which is priced at Rs 3,990, was listed for Rs 0 on the official website and quickly went out of stock once the word spread. All that users had to pay was the shipping charges. Now, the company has announced that it was a technical error. In the wake of the announcement, the company has cancelled all free OnePlus 30W Wireless Charger orders. Here is what happened.

OnePlus stirred up a storm on the social media platform X after popular tipster Ishan Agarwal and other popular handles tweeted about the free accessories offered by the brand. As you can see in the tweet above, OnePlus had listed the 30W Wireless Charger and OnePlus Nord CE 2 sandstone bumper phone case for Rs 0 on its website. Interested buyers were able to place an order for free accessories with a nominal shipping fee of Rs 49.

However, turns out that the free offer was a technical error and OnePlus was quick to realise it. Soon after, OnePlus cancelled all free charger orders placed by users and sent out an apology email to the buyers. According to the email (seen above), OnePlus informed buyers that the order would be cancelled due to an incorrect price set. As a token of apology, the brand is issuing a Rs 800 coupon to the buyer’s account directly. This coupon can be used against any future purchase of Rs 1,500 and above.
Notably, OnePlus had not advertised the deal anywhere and the news first broke out on X (previously Twitter) and spread through word of mouth. It was a lucrative deal and was lapped up by buyers across the country. The company has now listed the charger for Rs 3,490, down from Rs 3,990. And those who purchased it for free will be able to grab it for Rs 2,690 with the Rs 800 coupon.
