OnePlus is all set to launch the OnePlus Nord‘ successor – OnePlus Nord 2 5G. The handset will make its debut on 22nd July in India and Europe. The upcoming Nord 2 will be the first OnePlus handset to be powered by a MediaTek processor. The company has already confirmed that the handset will sport a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI processor under the hood. The latest teaser from the company reveals that the Nord 2 5G will be equipped with a 90Hz refresh rate display. Let us take a look at the official social media post,

The latest teaser reveals that the upcoming Nord 2 will feature a 6.43-inch fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. This should ideally be an FHD+ display since even the entry-level Nord N200 5G comes with an FHD+ resolution display. OnePlus has also confirmed that the display on the upcoming Nord 2 will be HDR10+ certified. We can expect the handset to feature an optical in-display fingerprint scanner as well.

This implies that the display on the upcoming Nord 2 will be the same as that of its predecessor – OG OnePlus Nord. To recall, the OnePlus Nord came equipped with a 6.43-inch 90Hz Fluid AMOLED display that was HDR10+ certified. However, we can expect the company to go with a circular punch-hole notch on the Nord 2 compared to the pill-shaped punch-hole notch for dual front shooters on the OnePlus Nord.

The upcoming Nord 2 is said to offer a triple-rear camera setup including a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and another 2MP sensor. For the selfies, the handset might offer a 32MP shooter housed inside a punch-hole notch. It is said to sport a 4,500mAh battery, about 10% more compared to the OG Nord. The company will also launch the OnePlus Buds Pro TWS alongside OnePlus Nord 2 5G on July 22nd. What are your expectations from the Nord 2 5G? Do let us know in the comments below.
