Over the past couple of months, there have been several speculations surrounding the new upcoming affordable device from OnePlus. The company only recently confirmed the existence of such a device through a blog post and has opened up an Instagram page with the handle @onepluslitezthing wherein OnePlus has asked users to speculate the name of the phone alongside its launch date. Previously it was believed that the affordable phone would be called the OnePlus 8 Lite or the OnePlus Z. Now there is mounting evidence to suggest that the device could likely be called the OnePlus Nord 5G. A new report has also said that the OnePlus Nord will come with a feature previously unseen on OnePlus phones.
As per Android Authority, the OnePlus Nord is likely going to feature dual selfie cameras. While previous renders have pointed to the fact that the device will only have single camera upfront, the report states that the decision for dual selfie cameras has been finalised and will be seen on the smartphone. Talking about the megapixel count, the report states that the primary camera will be a 32MP sensor accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. The placement of both the cameras will be via punch-hole implementation on the top-left of the phone’s display
OnePlus Nord: Expected specs and price
The OnePlus Nord is going to go up for sale in July exclusively via Amazon. It is said that the device will have a 6.55-inch Super AMOLED 90Hz panel. Processing-wise, the device will have a Snapdragon 765G chipset which is likely to be supported by 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone will also have a triple-camera layout with a 64MP sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP shooter which is unknown currently. A 4,300mAh battery will be powering the phone and it will be supported by OnePlus’ Warp Charge 30T solution.
