OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 10 Pro in the coming days in India. The company is rumoured to launch the Nord CE 2 Lite, Nord 2T, and Nord 3 later this year. However, it seems like OnePlus is interested in expanding its Nord portfolio to other categories and not just limiting it to smartphones.
A report from 91mobiles, courtesy of Yogesh Brar has revealed that the company is working on a Nord-branded smartwatch which it might launch later this year along with the OnePlus Nord 3. OnePlus Nord Smartwatch: What to Expect?
The report states that the OnePlus Nord smartwatch will be priced under Rs 10,000 in India. Most probably, it would fall between Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000. While the marketing name is unknown at the moment, we can expect it to launch along with the OnePlus Nord 3 later this year. The OnePlus Nord 3 is rumoured to launch in July 2022.
Just like the other smartwatches, the OnePlus Nord smartwatch will also have a colour touchscreen display, heart rate sensor, SpO2 monitor, sleep tracking, step count, smartphone notifications, music control, etc. The details of the product should surface soon on the web.
OnePlus currently has two wearables in India – the OnePlus Watch and OnePlus Band (review). The OnePlus Watch is priced at Rs 14,999 targetted at premium users. OnePlus Band, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 1,699 and is meant for those who want fitness features at a budget price. The OnePlus Nord smartwatch, falling in the mid-range would give consumers to choose various features at a budget price.
It would be interesting to see where the OnePlus Nord smartwatch will stand as the Rs 10,000 smartwatch segment is dominated by the likes of Xiaomi, Realme, Amazfit, etc. OnePlus has been focusing on expanding its portfolio in India recently with the launch of new TVs, smartphones, TWS earbuds, smartwatches, and more.
