OnePlus, back in February, announced that it will enter into the foldable smartphone segment in Q3 2023. However, the company didn’t reveal the naming of the foldable lineup. Now, Max Jambor, who has a very accurate track record when it comes to OnePlus-related leaks, claims that the OnePlus will soon introduce the OnePlus Open, the company’s first smartphone in the foldable lineup.
As per information shared by Max on the micro-blogging site – Twitter, OnePlus obtained the patent for the OnePlus Open trademark earlier this year in May. Max further revealed that the brand patented several trademarks such as Prime, Wing, Peak, Edge, and Open for its foldable lineup. However, it has decided to go with OnePlus Open. OnePlus’s first foldable – the OnePlus Open is expected to feature a similar form factor as that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Google Pixel Fold. The renders of the upcoming OnePlus foldable have already been leaked in the past. The leaked renders revealed that the OnePlus’s first foldable will feature a large foldable display along with a smaller cover display.
Last week, MySmartPrice exclusively revealed the detailed specifications of the upcoming OnePlus foldable. The upcoming OnePlus Open will feature a 7.8-inch AMOLED display with a 2K (3200 x 1440 pixel) resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The cover display on the handset will be a 6.3-inch AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate.
The OnePlus Open, similar to recent flagship smartphones, will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It will be paired with 16GB of memory and 256GB of storage. The smartphone will boot OxygenOS Fold as per a claim by tipster SnoopyTech.
The OnePlus Open will feature a triple rear camera setup which will include a 48MP primary camera sensor. The primary shooter on the upcoming device will be accompanied by a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 64MP telephoto lens, and an LED flash. The cameras on the OnePlus Open will be tuned by famous camera maker Hasselblad.
The OnePlus Open will offer a 20MP selfie camera which will reside in a centred punch-hole notch on the cover screen. The handset will also be equipped with a 32MP selfie shooter which will be accommodated in the foldable display. It will be equipped with a 4800mAh battery unit and 100W SuperVOOC fast charging support.
The OnePlus Open will feature fan-favourite alert slider and will offer a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the security front.
