- The device is expected to launch in India in the upcoming two months.

OnePlus Open, the first foldable phone by OnePlus has been in the talks for a while. Recently, it was reported that the launch of the OnePlus Open could be delayed because of a change in display panels by OnePlus. The price for the OnePlus Open has been tipped in India.
Per the tipster, Yogesh Brar, the OnePlus Open will be priced below Rs 1,20,000 in India. The pricing of the OnePlus Open is slightly less than the latest Samsung Z Fold 5 but higher than the Fold 4. If the rumoured price is said to be true, it reflects that OnePlus is not trying to compete on a price basis with its first foldable.
Out of all brands, OnePlus has the strongest lineup this year

OnePlus Open: What We Know So Far
The OnePlus Open was supposed to launch on 29th August. However, the launch appears to be delayed as OnePlus has faced some quality issues in outsourcing its OLED panels from BOE. OnePlus has decided to switch to Samsung for procuring display panels for its first foldable.
The OnePlus One will feature a 7.8-inch foldable screen with a 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It will also feature a secondary 6.3-inch screen on the outside. The back panel of the phone will have a leather finish. The overall design of the OnePlus Open is similar to the OPPO Find N2.
The OnePlus Open will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The device will have up to 16GB of RAM, as per sources. Expandable storage will not be available here.
The OnePlus Open will feature a Hasselblad partnership camera. As per previous leaks, the device will feature a 64MP primary camera, along with a 48MP wide-angle lens. The camera module in renders also appears to have a periscope lens, which should offer 3X optical zoom, from what we have seen on other OnePlus and OPPO devices.
The battery on the OnePlus Open is supposed to have a capacity of 4800mAh. The device will get 67W of fast charging.
What is OnePlus Trying With its Foldable?
OnePlus has already established itself as a premium brand in India. The company also has a strong portfolio this year with a device under every price segment, ranging from the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite to the OnePlus 11.
The launch of the OnePlus Open is not a direct competition to Samsung, which is the market leader in foldable phones currently. Instead, it’s a way for OnePlus to showcase its potential in India and global markets on what it can achieve.
Whether the OnePlus Open will threaten Samsung or not, the existence of a foldable will help OnePlus place itself in an extra-premium category.
