
Qualcomm is expected to launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in October. Though the official launch date of this upcoming SoC is yet to be revealed, we have been learning new details about this upcoming chipset through multiple leaks. The past details suggest that this new SoC will offer a 30% improvement compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen chipset in terms of CPU and GPU tests. Additionally, the AnTuTu scores of this upcoming chipset surfaced on Weibo a couple of days back. Now, in a recent development, new details are revealed courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station which discloses the OEM names which will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in their upcoming phones.
Upcoming Realme, OnePlus Phones To Have 24GB RAM
According to the information shared by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the upcoming OnePlus and Realme smartphones will come equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Furthermore, the tipster confirms that these devices will pack up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Though the launch timeline of the new phones coming with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is unknown, we can expect them to release by the end of 2023 or next year, considering that the new chipset is expected to be announced in October. Apart from OnePlus and Realme phones, we can expect the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC to be used in Xiaomi 14 series, OnePlus 12, Vivo X100, and iQOO 12 series devices.

It is worth mentioning that the Nubia RedMagic 8S Pro will be the world’s first smartphone which will come with 24GB of RAM. The device is confirmed to launch in China on July 5. Furthermore, the handset is also confirmed to feature overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The smartphone’s specifications are expected to remain the same as that of the Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro which debut globally last year. This does mean that the RedMagic 8S Pro will adopt a 6.8-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone could feature a 50MP triple rear camera setup, a 16MP front-facing camera, and a 6000mAh battery which might support 80W fast charging.
Moving onto the details of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 again, the past information suggests that this upcoming SoC has part code SM8650 and it is codenamed either Lanai or Pineapple. This upcoming chipset is supposed to feature 1+5+2 architecture. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor might incorporate a 1x Cortex-X4 prime core, 5 x Cortex-A720 cores and 2x Cortex-A520 cores. The chipset might be paired with an Adreno 750 GPU.
