OnePlus might be prepping up to launch the competitor of the Apple AirTags and Samsung SmartTag+ with its upcoming OnePlus Tag product. As per the recent leak, the Chinese smartphone maker has registered the OnePlus Tags trademark with China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) patent authority. If we have a glance at the information revealed by tipster Mukul Sharma, we can see that OnePlus has registered the OnePlus Tag on May 18th at CNIPA. The specifications, design and other details about this upcoming device by OnePlus remain a mystery at the moment. However, from the filing details, it is now clear that OnePlus is prepping up for the launch of the Apple AirTags like an accessory.
OnePlus Registers OnePlus Tags Trademark at CNIPA
As mentioned above, the trademark about the OnePlus Tag was filed by OnePlus on China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) on May 18th. This new trademark at CNIPA is registered with the applicant’s name as Beijing Intangible Technology Co. LTD. The trademark as of now doesn’t reveal any information like specifications, features or design about the OnePlus Tag. The information on the CNIPA website regarding the OnePlus Tag might get updated as the days pass. The launch details of this upcoming accessory also remains a mystery at the moment.
In a piece of related news, we also saw that OPPO is readying up for the launch of its OPPO Smart Tag-like accessory. The company had applied for a Smart Tag patent at CNIPA back in January. The patent had revealed the schematics of the OPPO Smart Tag. Additionally, back in April, real-life images of the OPPO Smart Tag emerged online. The leaked images revealed that the Smart Tag will carry a brand logo on top and it will have a USB Type-C support for connectivity purposes. The launch of the OPPO Smart Tag was supposed to take place alongside the Find X3 series launch, but that didn’t happen.
Now, that the details regarding the OnePlus Tags have emerged out, we can conclude the fact that the BBK-owned smartphone brand is prepping up for the AirTag competitor. Just like OnePlus, OPPO might also announce the Smart Tag soon, considering that we already have seen several patent listings and live images of the device recently.
