The OnePlus TV that was launched a couple of months ago in India has now started receiving a new OTA update which brings about Netflix support alongside a bunch of other updates. The absence of Netflix was an eyesore for the OnePlus TV as the India-only smart TV by OnePlus had support for almost all the other streaming services but this one. Finally, it is good news for the users of the OnePlus TV as the update would soon be reaching out to your respective TV units.

OnePlus TV latest OTA update brings Netflix support

After reviewing the OnePlus TV, we had given the same inputs to the company and, as it turns out, the company has tried its best to fix the known issues.

The latest update comes with the build number V1.6.0T1911211115 and is rolling out to both the OnePlus TV Q1 and the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro. As seen in the images, the latest OTA update sizes just at 98MB.

The addition of Netflix is not the only thing that the update comes with. Here’s the complete update changelog:

  • The latest OTA update for OnePlus TV adds Netflix support
  • Added the setting for directly entering recent “Input Source” at startup
  • Optimized volume adjustment experience to increase/decrease audio volume making it more comfortable
  • Added a new way to mute the TV by pressing the volume up and down buttons together
  • Added a new notification icon for showing low remote battery and charging status notification on TV
  • Optimized PQ video pinkish issue

We have tried all the features the changelog mentions and all of them work without any problem whatsoever.

The update is being rolled out in batches, so there are chances that you might have got the update already. If in case you haven’t, you would have to wait it out for a while in order to receive the same.

As far as the specifications go, both the OnePlus Q1 and the OnePlus Q1 Pro sport a 55-inch QLED panel from Samsung. Both TVs run on Android TV 9 OS out of the box. Also, we get support for Alexa and Google Assistant. The difference between the two TVs is the fact that the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro features a 50W 2.1-channel soundbar with eight drivers which the standard OnePlus TV Q1 does not.
