It is well known that OnePlus has concrete plans to enter into the smart TV space in the near future. Reports have suggested a launch by the end of 2019 or early 2020 in India. While there are no official hints, we have spotted the OnePlus Remote Control on Bluetooth SIG today. India is expected to be one of the first markets to receive the OnePlus TV when the company forays into the segment.
Speaking about the listing, the OnePlus Remote Control listing shows a publish date of 11 July 2019 which is today and it’s model number is RC-001A. The listing doesn’t come with any images, as usual, so all we know is that it has Bluetooth 4.2 hardware.

OnePlus TV is expected to be a premium product with smart features aimed at the high-end segment with affordable prices. According to current reports, OnePlus TV will act as a smart hub for other appliances apart from being capable of regular smart TV stuff. Tipster Ishan Agarwal has stated in the past that the OnePlus TV will rely on an LCD panel instead of an OLED panel. If this is true, then this it is probably the company’s strategy to keep the product’s price competitive in an aggressive segment. Apart from this, exact specifications are few and far in between.
Prices of the product are also unknown right now. Our guess is that OnePlus will be pricing its premium TVs near to Xiaomi’s top-end models on debut which is between the Rs 40,000-Rs 50,000 bracket. There’s no official word on the exact launch date of the new category and we’re not expecting anything soon either.
