OnePlus is all set to debut in the wearable segment with OnePlus Band which is launching on 11th Jan. Ahead of the launch, OnePlus has already listed OnePlus Health, a companion app for wearables, on the Google Play Store. Soon after the release on the Play Store, Nils Ahrensmeier performed a teardown of the Apk. The apk teardown revealed a few interesting things about the upcoming OnePlus Watch which has been in rumors and leaks for a while now. Nils found multiple references to Oppo in the teardown which shouldn’t come as a surprise. To those unaware, Oppo uses HeyTap Health as a companion app for all its wearable devices.
Nils also found references for OnePlus Watch and OnePlus Watch RX in the code. These might just be the placeholders since Oppo already has Oppo Watch, and Oppo Watch RX under its portfolio. The OnePlus Watch will carry model number W301GB and should come in the Obsidian Black color variant.
Apart from it, Nils managed to grab several OnePlus Band and OnePlus Watch watch faces. Some of these watch faces use OnePlus’s signature Black, Red, and White color, so these should indeed be OnePlus Watch watch faces. These watch faces are in line with the previous leaks that suggested that the OnePlus Watch will feature a round dial. Users can head over to this Twitter thread by Nils, to check out all the watch faces.
The apk teardown reveals that the upcoming OnePlus Band will carry model number name W101IN. It also revealed that OnePlus will refer to the Black variant of the fitness band as Obsidian Black. Nils, also found several UI elements of the upcoming OnePlus Band in the apk teardown. It also reveals the presence of a blood-oxygen-level monitor (also known as SpO2) sensor on the OnePlus Band, which the company has also confirmed officially.
OnePlus has already confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus Band will offer up to 14 days of battery life. Also, it will come with water and dust resistance, so we can expect it to feature an IP68 rating. OnePlus Band is expected to launch around a price tag of around Rs. 2,500 in India.
